Fiancé route compared
The fiancé route means paying an application fee to enter and then a second fee and health surcharge to switch after the wedding. Over the whole journey it normally costs more than marrying abroad and applying as a spouse.
Planning ahead
Fees are set by the Home Office and normally rise each spring. If you are close to a change, the fee that applies is the one in force on the day you pay.
